FBS INTERNATIONAL VISITS

2019 Up-date It is regretted that the visit to Belgium this year had to be postponed as the local member dealing with arrangements suffered the bereavement of his sister and shortly afterwards his partner. Our condolences have been conveyed.
This visit has now been re-scheduled for 2021, at a date to be announced no later than autumn 2020.
2020 Intershutz This five-yearly show will take place from Monday 15th to Saturday 20th June 2020.Saturday has now been included to cater for the volunteer brigades, whose members are employed elsewhere on week days.The Society is not organising a visit to Intershutz.
The show is open for a whole week and anyone can attend once the entrance fee is paid. Most of the regulars on FBS International visits seem to like the flexibility to attend when they like over the week rather than a set structured visit.
Consideration has, and is still, being given to a visit on weekend of the 20th and 21st June 2020.
However, this massive exhibition attracts a lot of fire personnel from both local services and within reasonable travelling distance in Europe. The Friday and, now Saturday, attracts volunteer brigades. Local brigades, like Hannover, are also heavily involved in the exhibition. This does reduce 'cover' and as such, to-date, we have not been able to secure a host willing to accommodate a party of us that weekend.
