Scotland Visit April 2019

FBS SCOTLAND VISIT APRIL 2019
Following permission given by the new Chief Officer (CO) for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (FRS), Martin Blunden, fourteen members of The Society, including one from Yorkshire and one new member, visited the West Service Delivery Area of the Scottish FRS on Saturday 27th April 2019.
Stations visited were: Renfrew, Clydebank, Knightswood, Kirkintilloch and Kilsyth, as well as Glasgow International Airport. Because of security restrictions we were only able to photograph a few of the airports fire vehicles at the security gate. Photo- graphed at the airport was one of the three new Rosenbauer Panther 6 X 6 Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting Vehicle (ARFF), with high reach extending turret (HRET), shortly to go on the run.
The weather was a mixture of heavy showers and bright sunshine in the afternoon. Several different vehicle makes and body manufacturers were seen and photographed by members.
Thanks are extended to CO Blunden for allowing the visit and to all Amber Watch personnel who kindly assisted us on the day and also to the Airport Fire Manager and duty crew at Glasgow International Airport.
